Members of the Collie Public Library have access to numerous online resources through the State Library of Western Australia. If you are accessing these resources outside of your library, please have your library card handy to use as your patron ID.
Encyclopaedia Britannica Online includes the Complete Encyclopaedia, Student Encyclopaedia and the Junior Encyclopaedia. There are more than 150,000 articles, links to over 20,000 Internet sites reviewed by Britannica editors, as well as over 750 full text journals and magazines.

Thomson Gale provides full-text authoritative information from journals and reference books covering health, fitness and nutrition.

The Australia/ NZ Reference Centre is the largest collection of regional full-text content available to public libraries, with a rich mix of both Australian and global titles. Made up of over 680 full-text reference books, newspapers, country reports, newswires, magazines and over 82,000 full-text biographies, ANZRC is a multi-disciplinary resource that caters for current affairs, sport, politics, technology, nature and a range of other subjects.
Unique to EBSCO are over 20 titles from Australian Consolidated Press. These include The Bulletin with Newsweek, Australian Personal Computer (APC) and Money. Nature Australia is another title unique to EBSCO. The superb range of global magazines includes The Economist, TIME, New Scientist and National Geographic.

BookSource: Nonfiction™ is a rich research database for public libraries. A cross-curricular database, it provides content representing a wide spectrum of works, including popular series from top book publishers. It contains informative abstracts and searchable full text for more than 3,100 popular nonfiction books. The database includes full text entries on core subject areas, as well as information on careers, health, sports, adventure, technology, life skills and more.

Busythings is an online resource for the early years that includes 115+ fun learning activities that help children learn important skills in the key learning areas of creative development, problem solving, reasoning, numeracy, communication, language and literacy and knowledge and understanding of the world.

Children and parents can select from activities focusing on pre-reading skills, phonics, reading, spelling, vocabulary, grammar and comprehension in a fun, exciting and safe online environment.
The first time you access Intrepica, you will be asked to register and to also register your child/children so that they can access the database.
Go to the drop down box on the Intrepica login page, select Western Australian Libraries and enter your WA Public Library barcode (the number on your library membership card). Then enter a valid email because your login details will be emailed to your email address to complete your child’s registration.
Once registered, you and your child will be able to go directly to the Intrepica login page and put in the username and password that was emailed to you through the registration process.
